When you are planning a wedding and you have toddlers, being the flower girl and the ring bearer are common choices. But when your children are tweens (between 8 and 12) it is a little more complicated. They are too old to be flower girls and ring bearers, and too young to be bridesmaids and groomsmen. This is where juniors fit in.

Mother’s Day is just around the corner, which means it’s time to start thinking about the perfect gifts for mom this year. Since mother does indeed know best, she deserves to be rewarded with a great gift that’ll show plenty of love.
The good news is that there is no shortage of Mother’s Day gift ideas out there, so let’s take a look at several awesome gift ideas that’ll leave your mother smiling bright this Mother’s Day.
The Gift of Style
What mother doesn’t love a good trip into the cosmetic aisle at the local department store? Finding the right cosmetic gift might not be an easy task for the men in the crowd, but it’s certainly a worthy idea that would leave your mother looking even more stylish than she already does.
Whether it’s the newest metallic lipstick or a simple refill of her eyeliner, you simply can’t go wrong with the gift of classic cosmetics. Of course, knowing the brand and color that she often uses is something to research before making your purchase.
But the stylish gift ideas don’t stop at cosmetics. You can also dive into the fashion world by seeking out the newest shoes, sweaters, or any other clothing items that would compliment your mother’s wardrobe.
Adding a Personal Touch
Knowing what’s important to your mother makes the possible gift ideas endless. While some mothers may value style, others may value gifts that hit on personal hobbies or collections that they’ve accumulated over the years.
If you’re mother is big on antiques, you could buy her vintage jewelry that stands out from the crowd, or the newest Limoges box to add to her collection. You could also go the arts and crafts route and seek out knitting necessities, antique paintings, or other similar items.
Giving your mother gifts that add that extra personal touch will go a long way towards showing just how much she means to you each and every day of the year.
Thinking Outside the Box
If you’re looking to venture beyond the traditional gift ideas and find unique gifts that your mother will love, all it takes is a little outside-the-box thinking to understand what your mother really needs or enjoys in her life.
If your mother is an animal person, she might have a special someone in her life that’s in need of fancy new toys or pet products that will help them live a fun and healthy lifestyle. Speaking of a fun and healthy lifestyle, maybe your mom has been desperate need of a little rest and relaxation. In that case, you could splurge for a gift certificate to the best spa in town or take it a step further by booking her a weekend getaway to the beach.
Looking to go even further outside the box? Here’s an idea: What’s something that we all have to do to survive? Breathing, of course, would be an obvious answer, but we also have to fill our bodies with food and drinks. While chocolate is the first gift item that comes to mind for most people, there are plenty of resources out there that would allow you to satisfy your mom’s craving for tasty wine, fresh seafood, or any other eating and drinking essentials.
The Perfect Gift
It may be difficult to identify the one perfect gift for your mother, but there are a wide variety of gifts that could allow you to show that extra bit of love for all that she’s done for you throughout your life.
And since Mother’s Day is a day to recognize all of her hard work and sacrifices, spending quality time with her and giving her the right gift will make it even more special for everyone involved.
Travel is a priority for a lot of people. In fact, almost everyone likes the idea of being able to explore the world, whether through hopping between famous capitals, lounging on luxurious islands, hiking through breathtaking wilderness, or any other sort of experience. But unfortunately, many of us wind up falling short of our travel goals, too busy with “real life” to find the time or flexibility to see the world.
That isn’t to say people don’t find ways to work in travel, For a lot of people, there are a few chapters in life that are specifically dedicated to this sort of adventure. For instance, you might have had an annual summer getaway with your family while you were growing up. In college, you might have joined friends to take advantage of some of the best spring break destinations, and you may even have enjoyed a semester or a summer abroad. And perhaps if you were in position to do so you even managed an independent summer abroad, or a gap year to travel before you settled down into your job.
For most of us, that’s about it! There may be a honeymoon somewhere along the way and the occasional short trip carved into a busy schedule. But at least in a general sense, it’s hard for busy adults to travel as much as they’d like to. There’s just too much tying us to our homes, jobs, and communities to justify the time. Fortunately, however, if you pay close attention you can see that this is beginning to change.
This is largely because of technology, and the ways in which it is making it easier for us to connect remotely. Whether you’re concerned about missing time with your friends and family, missing out on work, or even impacting your education (or perhaps that of your child), you can now find strategic ways to travel while addressing these concerns.
Stay connected on the go
We’ll start by addressing the idea of staying connected to work, because this is the biggest hurdle for a lot of people. Simply put, the average employee can’t simply take a week or two off to fly around the world! However, you may be more able to work from abroad than you actually realize, depending on your working environment.
These days, there are brilliant options for teams to collaborate remotely, through secure online communication and file sharing. Different places of business use different programs, of course, but from Slack to CloudApp with any number of services in between, work is becoming more flexible. You can likely find more ways of making yourself useful to your employer even if you’re out of the office – or the country!
Chatting made easy with tech
Some people may also worry about traveling too much because it uses up leisure time away from communities of friends or family members. It sounds silly, but it makes a certain sense; if you’re going to work hard all week every week, you should take what time off you do have to be with the people you enjoy! But here, too, there are plenty of ways to stay connected no matter where you may be in the world. Naturally chat apps for international travel have gotten better and better, and there are other ways to stay in touch through technology.
But you can also find creative ways to stay in touch with friends and family on longer trips. One common example is fantasy football, which a lot of old friends use to stay in touch for almost half the year! This is an activity with a long and fascinating history as a competitive game, but nowadays it’s arguably as much of a social tool as anything else. Being able to check into your league from anywhere in the world, talking to and competing against friends makes you feel right at home.
Learn new things while traveling
There are also educational concerns for some people who would like to spend more time traveling – particularly those who have families already. It can be hard to do much more than a weekend at the beach or in the mountains when you have children, because they need to keep up with their school curriculums. However, you can take the kids out of class for a few extra days, and there are plenty of ways to help them keep up or even get in some extra work on their subjects.
These days you can study languages via mobile apps, learn mathematics from DVDs, and study history through a podcast. There are all kinds of options for helping kids to stay sharp on the go, so long as they don’t miss too much time in the classroom. And this frees up parents to live out their travel dreams while exposing their kids to excellent experiences.
Budgeting for travel
The last issue, of course, is budgeting for travel, but there’s plenty of useful guidance on this issue out there, and if you follow the right tips you can generally scrounge together the money for an interesting trip. It just takes careful planning and discipline – but if seeing more of the world is a priority to you, it’s more than worth it!
Now, that means it’s easier than ever to see the world. And who knows? In doing so, you may just find your true calling by volunteering abroad, or at least broaden your horizons beyond your wildest dreams by traveling on your own schedule. There’s a whole lot to see out there.
The popular ePrix fixture in Monaco is returning on 13th May 2017. Officially known as the FIA Formula E Championship, Formula E is the environmentally-friendly answer to Formula One. The participating cars are electric-powered. The series was conceived in 2012 and the first ever Monaco ePrix took place in May 2015. It’s a wonderful opportunity to indulge in luxury car hire in France.
Monaco’s ePrix race circuit has been a huge success, not least because this picturesque city-state is already closely associated with high-level motor racing. The bi-annual race has now become the highlight of the Formula E calendar with many people choosing to rent a luxury car and visit Monaco to watch the event. The streets come alive and it’s a great warm-up to the Grand Prix for all ages.
The event entails twenty drivers racing their all-electric racing cars around a slightly shortened version of the famous Monaco F1 circuit. The day begins with two practice sessions in the morning, an opening 45-minute session followed by a further 30-minute session. Drivers each have two cars at their disposal with 200 kW available. That’s followed by an hour-long midday qualifying session where drivers are divided into four groups of five, with each group having six minutes to set their best lap. The five fastest drivers then individually go out again to determine the top five grid positions.
The actual race lasts 50 minutes with each driver being restricted to 170 kW and allowed one pit stop. In a kind of video game come to life, fans can vote for their favorite driver on social media to give them an extra power boost. The three winning “Fanboost” drivers each receive an extra 100 kJ of energy to be used in a power window between 180 kW and 200 kW.
The Formula E cars will race around a modified version of the F1 circuit, focused on the Port of Monaco, and including the infamous Piscine, the tight 135-degree right-hander La Rascasse, Sainte Devote and Tabac Corner. The circuit is a total of 2 km long but despite its shorter length, it will exude the same amount of excitement and challenge as the complete circuit. The cars are limited to an FIA maximum speed of 225 kilometers per hour but would be able to do more if allowed.
Prominent marques include Renault, Hyundai and Mazda. While electric power has played a role in Formula 1 cars in recent years, perhaps it is only a matter of time before the most important series in motor racing turns to fully electric cars. Renault is working harder than most to persuade car enthusiasts that electric motors are every bit as exciting as internal combustion engines. Its electric Zoe car now has a range of 250 miles and the stunning 2-seater electric coupé, Renault Trezor Concept is exploring just what is possible with future electric cars.
Other hosts of the FIA (FederacionInternationale de l’Automobile) Formula E Championship include the cosmopolitan cities of Berlin, New York and Buenos Aires. However, strategically scheduled just before the famous Grand Prix and at the start of the summer holiday season on the Riviera, the Monaco ePrix promises to be a very exciting event! Make the most of it by indulging a fabulous luxury car rental, whether it’s electric or standard.
Often it’s the best man who plans the bachelor party, but whomever the job has fallen to has a lot riding on his shoulders. It’s usually best not to lay down any huge surprises on the groom, but it can be hard not to play around a bit. That’s something only you can judge – for the rest, here are some tips for planning a bash in Toronto that will blow away expectations.
No Wedding Weekends
Most of the time, it’s as simple as that. Sure, stag night’s supposed to be your best friend’s “last night of freedom,” but everyone knows the truth is a little different. Most event planners agree that the best time for a bachelor party is actually three months before the walk down the aisle. If the groom has buds flying into Toronto from across the country and you have no choice but to plan for the wedding weekend, two days beforehand is the bare minimum. Usually the day before the ceremonies goes to rehearsals. It’s also better to keep bleary eyes and boozy breath on the groom’s side to a minimum on the special day.
Limos over Ubers
As far as transportation goes, there’s only one golden rule: nobody’s driving. Depending on your itinerary, taxis and Ubers might actually make sense, but remember that by the end of the night things might be a little messy. Do you really want to risk your rating climbing into an unsuspecting Uber when all is said and done? Limos were made for times like these and they’ll make sure everyone gets back to their home or hotel with nothing worse than a hangover.
Take an Axe to Convention
Axe throwing is one of those activities that can get people pumped for the night ahead. Toronto’s BATL (Backyard Axe Throwing League) leaves its weekends for bachelor, bachelorette, and birthday parties. Planning for a full day and night of raging might have you at your wit’s end. The more planning and organizing you can leave to venues the better. BATL can accommodate groups of up to a hundred, and while it’s usually not recommended that your guest list grow that long, it can be a great way to get a dozen or so people shouting. If you’re worried that your friends have done it all already, axe throwing can save the day. When you throw a bachelor party in Toronto at BATL, you’re definitely walking away with points for originality.
Rock Scotch ‘til the Highlands Are Dry
Once your group has crowned a champion, it’s time to talk drinks. Here’s a rule of thumb: save the hard stuff for later, but save the good stuff for just before later. It’s a gentlemen’s sport that way – but once you get to the gentlemen’s club, know your groom’s tipple of choice. However, scotch is always a great compliment to cigars to toast the groom-to-be. When you’ve been put in charge of his last night of freedom, make it an original one, from axe throwing to the after-hours.

Who doesn’t love a good zombie story? Every Sunday, for instance, many devoted Walking Dead fans tune in to see what happens to Rick, Carl, Darryl, Glen, Maggie, Carol and the rest of the currently surviving cast. Perhaps it’s because we’ve often fantasized about what we would actually do in a similar situation, or it’s simply our curiosity about life and death that attract us to zombie creatures. Either way you look at it, you can’t deny that zombies have become a staple in our popular culture.
Aside from The Walking Dead, there are numerous zombie films that are even cult favorites—like White Zombie (the first zombie film), Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Idle Hands and many others. But have you ever stopped to question how the notion of a zombie ever came into being?
The whole idea of a zombie creature originates with West African Voodoo religion. It’s believed that Voodoo priests could reanimate a corpse to exact their revenge or do their personal bidding. With the emergence of the slave trade to the New World, these beliefs spread into Haiti and North America. It wasn’t until 1932 that the term zombie ever appeared in print (in a short story called, The Unknown Painter).
Today, we can largely thank George Romero for the concept of the modern zombie creature. His numerous films depict the often seen flesh-craving zombie that has to be taken down by damaging the brain or severing the head.
In the event of a real-life zombie apocalypse, what would you do? Where would you run? And what tools would you use? This info graphic not only shares the interesting history behind zombies in Voodoo religion and popular culture, but it also shows what actual cities are the most/least likely to be affected & what survival tools you should use.
American DJ, rapper and producer Jonathan Mortimer Smith, more commonly known as Lil Jon, is now a famous solo artist and proponent of Crunk music. Popularising the genre while a member of the group Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz, he continued his career as a solo artist from 2004, and is available to be booked for gigs via MN2S booking agency.
Growing up in Atlanta, Georgia, Lil Jon spent much of his youth DJing at clubs in Atlanta for So So Def Recordings, before adopting his current performing name in 1995 and forming the collective, Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz, who were signed to the record label Mirror Image Records. In 2000 Lil Jon released his big break, the album ‘We Still Crunk!’, as well as setting up his own record label, BME Recordings. Anumebr of record labels became interested in Lil Jon after the album’s success, with several singles from it becoming very popular, resulting in him being signed by TVT Records after one of his performances had such a lasting impact on one of the label’s employees.
Taking its name from a slang past tense version of ‘crank’, the genre name ‘crunk’ was ued originally to mean crazy drunk by the alcoholic drink Crunk Juice. Stylistically, the genre features 808 drum sounds, synthesised sounds and utilises 1980s style call and response hip hop, and tends not to tackle socio-political issues like much hip hop, but instead serving simply as party music.
After introducing the world to the new musical genre, Crunk, Lil Jon’s debut solo album, 2010’s ‘Crunk Rock’, further popularised the genre. The genre is characteristically more club orientated, utilising a drum machine, heavy basslines and often shouting vocals. The album unfortunately saw many difficulties on its journey to release, with work for the album starting in 2005, with Lil Jon stating in 2006 that the work would be in a similar style to his single ‘Get Low’ from 2003. Moving to Las Vegas to record the album, the number of guests arranged to appear on the album increased while problems with the record label TVT sadly also increased. The album’s release date was postponed again and again until finally a date in 2010 was finalised, with the album ultimately featuring Roscoe Dash, Mariah Carey, 3OH!3, Whole Wheat Bread, David Guetta, Steve Aoki, LMFAO, Zuper Blahq, DJ Chuckie, Laidback Luke, Elephant Man, Pastor Troy, Ying Yang Twins, Akon, Mario, R. Kelly, T-Pain, Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em, and Pitbull.
Lil Jon claimed that the genre came from his very own concept of merging hip hop and electronic dance and house music, as it began to emerge from 1996 in African America strip clubs mainly in Memphis Tennessee in South America. The group Thee 6 Mafia, based in the area, were pioneers of the genre’s beginnings in the mid-to-late 90s, with fellow proponents Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz releasing their debut album ‘Get Crunk, Who U Wit’ in 1997. The group eventually released six albums, with Lil Jon alleging that the group were the first people to use the word ‘crunk’ in a lyric.
As well as performing in his own group, Lil Jon produced a number of crunk hits, including ‘Goodies’ (performed by Ciara), and ‘Yeah!’ (performed by Usher), both of which made their way right to the top 10 of the Billboard Top 100, and succeed in introducing the genre to a much wider audience. One of his productions, ‘Get Low’, is touted as the song which truly introduced the phenomenon of crunk music. Such was the burgeoning success of the genre, that the independent label, Crunk Incorporated, signed a major distribution deal with Reprise/Warner Brothers Records for the group Crime Mob. Given its great popularity, Crunk music has spawned many sub genres, including trap music, which has in fact since become more popular than crunk itself in the 2010s.
Still just as impactful a performer as when he inspired the TVT employee back in the day, Lil Jon is still a formidable producer and live performer. To find out more about booking Lil Jon, please contact London based booking agency, MN2S.

Like most of us, you probably order your business and personal printing products without much thought to the process or materials used. Invitations, business cards, postcards and vinyl banners look great because of a combination of quality materials and innovative printing techniques. This article will reveal some little known facts about professional printing that will make you a more educated consumer and more appreciative of your printer.
So, you just ordered a bundle of customized postcards to send as save the date reminders for your upcoming wedding. You opted for edge painting in your favorite shade of royal blue because it coordinates with the ink (and it’s your favorite color). But, you probably don’t know how much work goes into this process. Here’s a short description of how it’s done:
- First, paper (business cards, postcards or invitations) must be stacked neatly on a padding press. Cards should be as snug as possible with edges exposed for the painting process.
- Next, a brayer is used to apply the ink. The brayer can be rolled on a glass surface to make sure that the ink spreads evenly and covers completely.
- Apply the ink with light pressure along the edge of the paper. When completed, use a piece of cotton cloth to remove any excess ink.
- Last, let the cards dry completely and repeat with remaining edges. The end result is truly worth every penny. Color seams are also a creative way to add a splash of color and excitement to cards of any kind in a less expensive and more efficient way: Here’s an example from my preferred online printer.
For most people setting out to make a statement with their advertising, custom printing is at the top of the list. There are many techniques that can aide in transforming an ordinary business or greeting card into a work of art. Metallic hot foil, like edge painting, sets your particular print project apart. Let’s take a look at how metallic foil works its magic:
- Metallic foil, typically in gold or silver, is a printing technique that uses heat and pressure to create the desired effect. If you are designing business cards for your new venture, metallic foil produces elegant and professional print products. Take a look at these.
- To create the metallic foil finish, your trusted printer will take a metal die, your choice of paper stock and insert a foil material in the center.
- The die then presses the foil onto the paper and the heat triggers the adhesive. Too much or too little heat will affect the finished product. Just the right amount of heat will make for a dazzling outcome.
Respecting the Environment
As consumers become more conscious of how their purchases affect the environment, more and more professional printers are turning to soy based inks. Unlike petroleum based ink, soy ink is made of soybeans and is more environmentally friendly, and provides more accurate colors. Papers printed with soy ink are much easier to recycle because soy inks can be removed more efficiently than regular inks during the de-inking process.
Next time you order print materials for your business or for pleasure, consider custom techniques like edge painting, color seams, and metallic foils to make a powerful first impression. Ask your printer if he uses soy based inks and implements other environmentally friendly practices. We hope this article inspires you to design incredible print materials for your next project or celebration.
What is your favorite print technique? Which one of these will you use for your next print job? We would love your feedback!

Do you read blogs or see ads on TV where they take old words to create new ones to buzz about? There are several passions that strum at our heart like strings of a guitar. World history at some point becomes #YourStory. How? We’ve all had that feeling of wanting to do something and feeling helpless on knowing how to get started. What makes us want to give back? Like bees we buzz about what we find exciting, authentic, and philanthropic.
What is one thing we’d love to change? There must be something we personally endured enough to know how to fix. What experience can we enlighten others about to change? What special fundraising drive can inspire the world to take notice and care – again? How can we tool great awareness campaigns, food drives, or marathons exciting enough to inspire involvement?
We are emotional beings. So the first step is building empathy. We talk about stuff everyday. We ask neighbors for advice. We talk to strangers when we have nowhere else to turn. Fundraising does all of this and provides necessary resources. It sheds light and gives voice to those who couldn’t speak or fight for their rights. In spiritual circles empathy is synonymous with emotional intelligence. We show heart smarts when we can relate to another’s story.
Emotional Intelligence is a New Age term with ancient values of wisdom, which essentially means being heart smart. We are most effective at communicating when we can relate to what another is experiencing. Being heart smart gives hope that the world can be better because it reveals what can be done and how assistance can be most effective. We become voices for those in need. It is empowering to see the faces of those lives we’ve forever changed for the best. But it starts as a spark, an idea, and an ambition. We can make the wheels of fortune spin for others with fundraising.
We can longer ignore the hunger of a world in need of more love, greater care, and demand for more services. Society is growing. Family structures are evolving in some places and not enough in others. Shifts in income means a shift in moral values. We are no longer living in the homes Mom and Dad grew up in. In many cases, it’s worse. What we needed then is not what is needed now to balance unjust scales of resource distribution. We can’t tell our children they can’t eat because Congress couldn’t come to an agreement. We can’t pay our bills with growling stomachs or if we are too sick to get out of bed. Sadly, this is how life goes for many on the daily.
The world needs more heroes like us. Heroes must be well equipped to handle the demands of supplying funds to worthy causes. Heroes need to be organized and aware, themselves of where to go for resources. No one expects us to save the world but we can pick one issue at a time to fundraise tools of understanding. It takes resources to get others back on their feet. That donation means eating for the day to unemployed families, malnourished seniors, or underprivileged school kids. Extra bucks we spend on a coffee could be someone’s breakfast, lunch, dinner, or medicine. Oh the smile of appreciation they give when they know there’s an angel looking out. It’s the little things that truly count.
There are several organized methods of giving back without giving out all one’s resources. We thought of this when we created products to use for fundraising. We want the world’s next heroes to be well equipped to handle any fundraising demand. All it takes is ambition, a vision, goals, and a budget. Everything can flow like music when we have the right support systems available to direct our steps. It’s a comfort to know there is assistance on getting started with any fundraising activity. With less technical there can be more space for the creative to inspire greater involvement.
