A 44ft love spoon is on its way to get a shape as world’s largest love spoon ever carved. As the name suggests, the tradition belongs to the Welsh love spoons custom of the 17th Century. However, its not a new task for Ed Harrison from Pontsian, Ceredigion, who is passionate not for love, but to break world records, in pursuit comes the largest wooden spoon which currently stands at 25ft 9in. His 22ft spoon, which he carved in 1989, is already on display at The Wales Centre opposite the castle.
He is up to do something different and set with a chainsaw to carve it off a felled Red Cedar tree in the Caerphilly area, which features a heart, cage, dragon and links, all symbolizing love. However, he is uncertain about the future plans for this giant spoon, which he thinks, will be hard to fit at his place due to lack of required space.
