Submersed Songs – Fishy music!

Vivian Caccuri, an artist from São Paulo, Brazil has come up with a sound installation, called Submersed Songs. It generates remixes through the movements of four live fish, the movement acting as a real time mixer for MP3’s and iPods. The system constantly mashes-up two different songs by different users, giving them the liberty to connect to an audio device to the interface and choosing a song of their liking. Also, it acts as a recorder when another visitor tries the interaction. This two way interaction allows the visitor to listen to the previous visitor’s song. Coordination between the carp fish and the level of distortion (a variable factor) unveils this intimate music archive. Check out the video after the jump.
