For anyone who has ever taken care of a person with a disability, you know how hard it is to make them comfortable without making them feel like they are totally dependant on outside help. To help the disabled more independent and to help them get around without any help, a team of developers at the Georgia Institute of Technology have come up with an ingenious magnet that allows disabled people to operate wheelchairs with their tongue. Hands and feet are controlled by the brain via the spinal cord, while the tongue is connected to the brain directly through a cranial nerve. This lets people with muscular impairments to move their wheelchairs with lesser efforts. Kudos to the people who figured this fact out and created this magical tongue-friendly wheelchair!
