Philips has already delivered a luxurious lineup of Ambilight LCDs and here they are with another addition to their lineup. The Aurea features a fully LED back-lit panel enabling them to glow through the case border, creating a dynamic frame effect.
The company has also done good to minimize the visible speaker components by using 26 tiny drivers instead of large speakers. The LCD offers 1080p resolution with an awesome 8000:1 contrast ratio and increased refresh rates.
With so much to offer we cannot expect the price tag to be in the ‘dare to dream’ range for many, but the price tag exceeds our expectations as the 42′ 42PFL9900D will debut in September for a jaw dropping $6,895.
