Mobile shoe phone!

boffin cobbles together shoe phone

Inspired by a 1960s TV spy spoof – Get Smart, Paul Gardner Stephen, an Australian computer scientist has developed a shoe phone. He and his cobbler friend embedded a Motorola handset in the heel of one shoe and a Bluetooth headset in the other. He used it for three days, describing his experience as “quite good fun” and even plans to sell it online.

Though it sounds weird, but the scientist is now exploring the practical uses for his invention such as monitoring care of the elderly. He reckons it could be used to measure pulse, blood pressure and other medical information.
