Wondering how to get the perfect bench for your garden? Find a fallen tree or arrange to have it fall, and Voila! Instant bench! One thing you absolutely should not do is buy one of these tree trunk benches from Droog Design. Ridiculously priced at £4,800.00 (exclusive of VAT), you get 3 bronze chair backs which you can stick upon your prized piece of wood. Apparently, the designer Jurgen Bay thought it ridiculous to actually provide the tree in itself, since they are so easily available, and didn’t bother including it as part of the package. It does, however, include free shipping, which is nice, in a way. They’re portable, so should you get bored of a particular log, you may re-locate to a more interesting one, but then again, you could do that with a chair and, Iâll warranty, much more easily.
I know I might be coming down a bit harsh on this particular idea, but it seems almost criminal to charge £4,800.00 for something of such little intrinsic merit. Purchase it if you make enough money to purchase a small island on a month salary, otherwise do what I say and laugh.
