Apple’s first Macintosh Plus on sale

Auctions often belong to the people with deep pockets. Like, no common man would even dream to own a real T-Rex skeleton with a starting bid of £3.6 million. For a change, thankfully, even a person with limited resources can call himself a proud owner of the first Macintosh Plus, introduced by Apple in January 1986. The present owner, Gene Roddenberry, creator of Star Trek, had received this as a gift from Apple. This historical product is expected to fetch between $800 to $1,200 when it goes on sale, next month. The objective behind auctioning this piece of computer and science fiction history is to inspire people to pursue careers in science and aerospace.
