In a wild bid to promote Sac County’s oldest products the much beloved popcorn, forty-four volunteers and five staff members of Noble Popcorn Farms took it upon themselves to make the worldâs biggest popcorn ball to mark the communityâs Sesquicentennial celebration way back in 2005. Using a carefully perfected technique, the group used 1500 lbs. of sugar and 690 lbs. of syrup mixed with 910 lbs. of popped corn to create the massive popcorn ball that weighed 3,100 pounds in weight and stood at over 7 feet tall and 23 feet in circumference. The gigantic ball is now a part of the Guinness Book of World and might I say a part of Sac County folklore as well!
