We have seen through the ages the development of painting and portraiture as an art form. From the times of Raphael and Michelangelo, painting has come a long way, with all of the modern paintings and abstract art that is being produced.
However, there has never been anything like this. UK-based illustrator Carne Griffiths creates striking portraits with uncommon mediums such as tea brandy, vodka, whiskey, graphite and calligraphy ink. His drawings most frequently explore human and floral forms, as says he’s “fascinated by the flow of line and the ‘invisible lines’ that connect us to the natural world.”
Never before has such mediums been used, and that too so successfully in order to create what is absolutely, in one word, beautiful.
