Believe it or not! Music was the passion for people in Soviet Union, apart from rattling the Europe and the rest of the world, during the ‘communist’ years. The amazing fact gets credence after ‘Tonika,’ the first electric guitar made in USSR in the 60s, was revealed. Yet another example of the supreme power of music that can attract and mitigate even the sturdiest (Soviet luthiers). However, the tour de force is a super-heavy guitar with awfully bent body and a thick neck that may do anything but play sweet and harmonious tunes or music. But we cannot seize the credit from the Tonika creators, by comparing it with some hottest electronic guitar, who produced this wonderful instrument at the time when Soviet citizens were not allowed to go overseas too frequently.
