The Post-IT notes which won their makers,3M, loads of accolades could look very outdated and uncool thanks to Girton Labs new Ixp Note. These innovative stick-on notes use memory- jogging technology to make it a very handy piece of paper to set digital alarms that can act as reminders for household tasks. For this, the Ixp notes use thermo-chromic ink that changes colour with changes in temperature. The thermo-chromic strip can be used by the user to write down a task to be completed. Then the user can set an alarm which gives out beeps as the deadline for the task expires. This is achieved by low cost electronic circuit printing technology which is used to make these notes. The Ixp Note’s inventor, Lyndsay Williams says that she hopes to see these digital stick-on notes on shop shelves by next year at £10 for pack of ten. Once that happens, I feel that the Ixp Notes will soon become the rage in offices and homes all over the world.
