Care for an Eskimo lifestyle for a day or two? Well, not exactly but somewhat similar i.e. no hunting or fearing polar bears, rather living in a hotel made from snow, facilities provided, in temperatures around -5 degrees Celsius. Located in Kemi, northern Finland, this 30,000 square snow castle features: a restaurant, an art gallery, chapel and a hotel.
The ice hotel has 18 rooms, two big halls/rooms and a honeymoon suite with sleeping bags to comfort, but lacks a warm shower facility that will be provided at a nearby hotel. Sadly, there is no word on pricing, ought to be on the higher side.
