Japanese Theremin maker, Mandarin Electron, has produced some exquisite handheld instruments, which can be comparable to the best. The device, aptly named ‘Matryomin’ has been created by master thereminist, Masami Takeuchi. These are a piece of art which creates more art. These pieces are exquisite and create sweet music.
These devices are embedded inside a handmade toy of Russian origin, called the ‘Matryoska’. The Theremin can be easily stuffed into the soft wood of the toy to create both electric and eclectic sounds. This gives an impression that the doll is singing to the touch of the player.
Theremins were conceived by a Russian musician known as Leon Theremin in the year 1919. Thus, the Matryomin is a combination of Japanese art combined with Japanese sense of style and elegance.
