Whenever I come home from a family vacation, fighting with my dad over the exact date, time and location of a particular photograph is almost a certainty. I love the little quirky traditions we have in my family but there really are dates when I have a hard time pinning a snap to a particular location. Thankfully some retention-challenged dude just like me thought of inventing this handy new GPS Photo Finder which can help you keep track of your happy memories. Just sync the thing up with your digicam, and take all the snaps you wish to. Then slip your cam’s memory card into the GPS device’s card slot and you will have the location information embedded in the photo files themselves. And when you come home, you can use Picasa, Google Earth, or other GPS compatible software to know the exact time and place your pics were taken. For the time being, the geotagging gizmo works only for JPEG files but we’re damn sure the success of the GPS Photo Finder will prompt many other manufacturers to innovate in the field and who knows, we might be looking at a GPS-enable digicam soon.
