Giant Steampunk Telescope – It’s a small world!

It’s a small world after all or safe it is to say that it’s becoming smaller still with inventions like these. This telectroscope placed at Thames’ Tower Bridge is quite an attention-seeking piece of invention. Struck by one man’s vision back in 1877 of creating a device that will enable one to see people across the Atlantic Ocean, British artist Paul St.George decided to perpetuate it. He created an 11-meter long and 3.3-meter tall Steampunk Telectroscope that actually makes you a virtual part of New York with the help of a high definition camera. This latest communication technology is provided by Tiscali and I am sure that it has put to rest the soul of some French designer of the 19th century! With oceans being referred to as ponds now, looks like pools will become puddles!
