Foldy – The laundry folding robot

How about a robot that folds your laundry? Yes, from T-shirts to pants and that too automatically. However, for that, it first needs to be programmed via a computer interface. “Foldy,” the laundry folding robot, has been developed by Professor Masahiko Inami and his team at Keio University. This small robot, for initial programming, uses a ceiling mounted camera that keeps track of the robot’s position and the clothing. It goes about its business following the human operator’s commands (via a PC interface). Later, these instructions can be stored so that it can work on its own. You can even share the stored data among other users. Sounds great!
