The latest Credit Card Embedded Authentication Device, developed by Innovative Card Technologies and eMue Technologies, seeks to solve problems related to credit card theft and its unauthorized use. The technology uses a screen and a keypad as an additional security measure. The customer is required to key in the pin and the authorization code automatically flashes on the screen. This eliminates the unauthorized use of credit cards for online purchases (which require the authorization code to be entered to complete the payment). The card is due to be shown to customers at the Cartes and Identification event held at Paris.
