As a modern makeover to chalk, Czech companies DE NOVO s.r.o. and Design-brothers s.r.o. have ceated a neat little holder called the âChalkpenâ. The dusty feeling that inevitably follows the usage of chalk might be relished by some but is detested by most. Chalkpen is a neat and simple solution to all the various problems associated with the use of a chalk. Not only is one spared the dirty figures and constant breakage, but chalkpen makes it very easy to use the small pieces that are so hard to grip and hence eliminates wastage. Chalkpen is a simple tool and has been designed after much thought was dedicated to the round shape of a chalk. The prototype was made after working on tens of design solutions. The ultimate product is a perfect fit for the chalks made by company SES. The ergonomic design on this tool consists of a triangular cross-section that emphasizes the best way to write with a chalk. At the end of the pen is a projection that can be pushed down to reveal more of the chalk as more of it gets scraped away. The creators have given adequate thought to the packing too and chalkpen has also been produced in a variety of colors to accentuate appeal.
