Brannock Device: Eight decades of accuracy to sooth millions of feet

Brannock Device is the standard foot-size measuring scale commonly found in shoe stores. Invented and patented by Charles F. Brannock, this scale was the sole invention in the entire life of it’s inventor. Son of a New York-based shoe magnate, Brannock worked on the primitive wooden stick-based measuring scale to develop this remarkable instrument. Ironically, this scale has remained almost unchanged since 1926 when it was patented; also, neither were any substitutes researched and developed against it. Perhaps, the reason for it is that no fallacies were ever reported in this instrument. Thanks to Brannock, shoe traders have trusted it closing their eyes for it’s accuracy and ease of use for the past eight decades. Otherwise, there remains no other convenient way to measure the size of a human foot. Truly amazing! Indeed, somethings never change.
