Bamboo Mouse: A Wooden Thought

mouse 3342I was reading a book on the differences between classical understanding and romantic understanding. The latter looks for appearances and has an inclination towards the aesthetic aspect of things. And the first community is concerned with the functionality of objects. Technology is often referred to as the manifestation of the thoughts of the former. So, an attempt to bridge the divide between both communities usually falls flat on its face. And the bamboo mouse is one of those half-hearted attempts, an optical mouse embedded in a bamboo casing.

There is hardly any doubt about the eco-friendly nature of the mouse. Or is there? No doubt, the external shell is made up of fast growing and recyclable bamboo, but the inner part still is composed of plastic and stuff. Talk about superficiality, eh!

It is to be seen whether consumers dismiss it as just a noble thought. I reckon it will suit your showcase more than the computer table. And a price of $34 can lure only lovers of art. Greenpeace members are sure to buy one.
